About Minda
Background
For over twenty years Minda Rogerson has selflessly given to the community of
her time, talent and prodigious energy. During her tenure with the Board of
Directors of the Lethbridge Symphony Association, she worked relentlessly at a
variety of fund raising events including chairing the organizing committees of
Music at the McIntyre and the joint gallery and symphony gala ball,
Sentimental Journey. She recently directed her talents to organizing the
Harvest Moon Ball which raised funds for St. Michael’s Health Care Centre
and annually assists with the Kiwanis Music Festival. In addition to all
this, she still finds time to work with new Canadians particularly those from
her native Philippines. For this she was awarded the Canada Citizenship Award in
1998.
During her first 20 years in Canada, Minda put her degree in Medical
Technology from the Far Eastern University in Manila to good use working in the
McGill Neurological Institute, Ottawa and St. John’s General Hospitals and
conducting research in Nutritional Biochemistry at Memorial University of
Newfoundland.
In 1992, soon after moving to Lethbridge, Minda qualified as a Realtor and
joined Sutton Group. In 2002 she received the highest recognition of her peers
when the Lethbridge Real Estate Board named her Realtor of the Year.
In addition to her professional and volunteer achievements, she and husband
Robert, Professor of Geography at the University of Lethbridge raised two
charming daughters Neriza and Luiza.
