Minda Rogerson

Minda Rogerson moved to Sutton Group West Coast Realty in Victoria in 2010 and has now established herself as a caring, competent and successful realtor in Greater Victoria. Prior to that she was a Sutton Group realtor in Lethbridge, Alberta for eighteen successful years where she was active in residential, relocation, acreage and commercial real estate. She attained over 40 transactions per year for most years and was given the top award "Lethbridge Real Estate Board Realtor of the Year" for 2002.

She was also very active in the community. During her tenure with the Board of Directors of the Lethbridge Symphony Association, she worked relentlessly at many fund raising events including chairing the organizing committees of Music at the McIntyre and the joint gallery and symphony gala ball, Sentimental Journey. She was a member of the Board of the Southern Alberta Art Gallery and active in their fund-raising efforts. She also helped organize the annual Harvest Moon Ball which raised funds for St. Michael’s Health Care Centre, and organised many other fund-raising events from "fun runs" to "raft races".

As a Kiwanian, she annually assisted with the Kiwanis Music Festival. For her work with new Canadians, particularly those from her native Philippines, she was awarded the Celebrate Canada Citizenship Award in 1998. In 2008 she was presented with the Allied Arts Council Individual Award of Excellence for outstanding support of the arts.

During her first 20 years in Canada, Minda put her bachelor's degree in Medical Technology from the Far Eastern University in Manila to good use working in the McGill Neurological Institute, Ottawa and St. John’s General Hospitals and conducting research in Nutritional Biochemistry at Memorial University of Newfoundland.

Minda is married to Robert Rogerson, a retired university professor and administrator who works as an educational consultant and part-time professor at the University of Victoria. Their eldest daughter, Neriza Wallace, is a realtor with Sutton Group in Lethbridge, Alberta. Their youngest daughter Luiza teaches English language in Murcia, Spain together with their grandson, Dylan.

    This award recognized Minda's contributions to her community, particularly the arts over the past 20 years.  She was nominated by Southern Alberta Art Gallery  where she devoted much energy as a Board Director and fundraiser.  She also volunteered with the Lethbridge Symphony Orchestra for 18 years and served on their Board of Directors for four years.
